„HE (Ludwig) is here!“

pianist Florian Wilkes

Florian Wilkes’ extraordinarily cantabile playing developed through the great affinity for the piano which he showed early on. Coupled with rhythmic - metrical conciseness the piano becomes under his hands an orchestra of its own kind. Even the most difficult technical or polyphonic details are masterfully interpreted and expressively brought out by him, thus arousing a strong fascination in the listener.

Florian Wilkes gives piano recitals with programmes like the following:

A Beethoven-CD is scheduled for 2011.

“Wilkes evoked a clear picture of the ideas and of the musical diversity of expression of the Viennese classical period. His well structured performance showed technical skill and a close interpretation of the specific particularities of the respective Works. The vigorous touch and the clear tone which reveal him also as a master of the organ were particularly captivating in the ´Waldstein´ sonata with its vibrant principal theme consisting of quaver movements.” (Göttinger Tageblatt)
