Music studies at the Universität der Künste in Berlin, in the department of church music (voice with Prof. Adele Stolte, choir direction and choirmaster tutor with Prof. Uwe Gronostay, conducting with Prof. Hans Hilsdorf)
1990-1999
Establishment of the choir "St Joseph im Fließ"
With the choir he toured abroad in places like Rome (Chiesa Valdese), Paris (Notre Dame and Sainte Trinité), Krakow and Warsaw (Church of St Mary)
Rossini’s “Petite Messe Solennelle” (conducted from the piano) (discography) and Mozart’s “Requiem”, as well as the annual “Christmas Oratorio” by Bach were amongst the best and highly acclaimed performances of the choir.
1999/2000
Temporarily, Wilkes conducted the Sing-Akademie Berlin, founded in 1791. With the Sing-Akademie and the Berlin Symphony Orchestra he performed, apart from various motets, “The Seasons” by Haydn in the Philharmonie in Berlin.
2000/2001
Training in conducting at the regional stages of Hannover and Cottbus

Establishment of the Choral Academy Berlin in 2000.

Florian Wilkes received support for choir and orchestral concerts from the German - French Jugendwerk, the Berliner Sängerbund, the Deutsche Musikrat, various Goethe-Institutes and others.
